The Summer Update

A Year of Apocalypse Mod

It's been an entire year since Apocalypse Mod was released to the public, running off a linux server in my basement with a 1.8GHz processor and 512MB of RAM. Eventually there was enough interest, and through donations we were able to expand to several professionally hosted servers. The first "version" of the mod was a simple .cfg file and a couple of loosely assembled small server plugins for things like lighting changes. The mod evolved greatly through development, spawning the creation of the Dynamic Director, Custom Items, and the like. We've come a long way in the past year, but I think we all know it's just the beginning. I'd like to again thank everyone who has donated, reported bugs, suggested improvements/ideas, and simply being an active member of our little community. Without you guys there's really no point to any of this, so I'm glad you've all stuck around.

As of this announcement a minor update to the servers has gone through with some versus balance tweaks and fixes to most of the bugs people have reported since the Summer update.

Still some more things to talk about!

Donations

It's once again that time of the month where the servers start to whine and complain about being fueled by some form of currency (something like that...) so it's once again time for the mighty donators to draw their money-drenched swords and strike down these hungry server monsters! Hoping to see some new people join the super-cool-donator club this time around! As previously mentioned, donators get a shiny lantern for use in Apoc, and I'm also working on some more rewards on the website. Just because donators deserve some thanks and appreciation! We're hoping to get our AUS server back online as well - but we'll have to see.

For those intelligent few, you may have noticed this announcement is a day early, technically speaking. The reason is I'm on holiday starting tommorow until the 19th. I'll still be working on Apoc, but I'll have limited internet access and as such there's unlikely to be any events. If anyone is interested in hosting some events on their own that would be fantastic however - just send me an email and we can set it up. (dev@apocalypsemod.com)

One final thing - Invites! If you have a minute, please (pretty please?) invite your friends to join the group. Feel free to invite public players on the servers to the group as well. The plan to release Apoc survival at 2000 members is still standing, and we're not too far off. More members = more players = more donations = more servers = more Apoc goodness. Do your part and invite!

That's all for now folks!
