What is Apocalypse Mod?

Apocalypse Mod is an initiative dedicated to creating a ‘different’ style of gameplay experience in Left 4 Dead and Left 4 Dead 2. Initially a server mod for Left 4 Dead 1, the Apocalypse gameplay ideals eventually translated over to a variety of different mods. The goal of Apocalypse mod is to refine the definition of survival horror, and innovate different methods of storytelling, cooperative gameplay, and multiplayer horror experiences. Apocalypse Mod was mentioned on the official L4D blog in December 2010.
